Coen V. Purvis joined Cantrell Morgan in September 2016 as a Principal in charge of leading the firm’s Development operations.
With over 30 years of professional experience in the real estate industry, Mr. Purvis began his career with Reynolds, Smith and Hills. In 1990, he joined a privately held $425 million real estate investment and management company serving as Senior Vice President of Business Development. In this capacity, Mr. Purvis oversaw the development, acquisition and business operations on more than $150 million in retail and office projects. Prior to joining Hallmark in 2002, Mr. Purvis spent three years serving as Chief of Comprehensive Planning for the City of Jacksonville’s Planning and Development Department. Appointed by the Mayor, he oversaw all land use and zoning issues, including requests for land use changes, re-zonings, exceptions, deviations and waivers, PUDS and DRIs.
Mr. Purvis has a Master of Science Degree in Urban Planning as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Florida State University. He is a member of the American Planning Association, International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, the Urban Land Institute and has served on the Mayor of Jacksonville’s 2004 Parks Task Force as well as the Mayor’s 2006 Growth Management Task Force. Additionally, he has chaired a ULI Technical Advisory Panel, served on another ULI Technical Advisory Panel and has participated as a ULI Program Committee member. Mr. Purvis has also served on a NAIOP Governmental Affairs committee for its local chapter.
